Veterinary Gamete Biology and Assisted Reproduction Technology Lab
Veterinary Assisted Reproduction Laboratory

(VetART)

Our Assisted Reproductive Technology (VetART) laboratory in the School of Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis is both a distinguished research facility studies gamete biology and pathophysiology of the equine placenta and is a national embryo service provider for breeders and veterinarians. Under the collaborative direction of Dr. Stuart Meyers and Dr. Pouya Dini, we are also one of the few ART labs in the world equipped with the ability to monitor growing equine ICSI embryos via the advanced technology of MiriTL® Non-Invasive Embryo Time-Lapse Imaging.

We are focused on understanding the complex nature of gamete physiology and embryo development in the horse and placental development and its pathologies. Our team consists of faculty Theriogenologists (Reproductive specialists), embryologists, postdoctoral researchers, graduate students, residents, and undergraduate students working together to provide horse owners and livestock producers the ability to generate high-value pregnancies.
